Is it me or is there a rash of kwa m4s for sale. Not just here but everywhere. But everytime someone asks about a rifle people praise kwa. I know know of 5 people who have had their gearboxes shell crack. Are they really as good as people say they are

I'll sell my left testicle before I sell my KM16. I have done nothing to it other than add a single point sling adapter and it has performed extremely well. Of course some of the KWA products could have problems, but show me a brand that is flawless.

From the researched I've done I read the older ones (2008?) sometimes cracked in cold weather. KWA has apparently fixed this with their 2009 version. They also have a new bucking that performs like an SCS nub.

I have two 2009 KWAs - M4 RIS and SR-5 (407mm Prometheus & SP130 spring) - Few weeks ago I ran 2000 rounds through my SR-5 (425 FPS) in the snow with temps 30 to 35 degrees and it ran flawlessly.

And KWA has fantastic forums, post an intelligent question and the KWA reps will respond :)

FWIW

My TM M4 had issues a few years back. The trigger post on my gear box broke in half and I needed to replace the entire shell. Trust me, even TM have their issues.

That sound like a lemon, not a flaw, I have never heard of a trigger post breaking on another TM.

I talked to my buddy a while ago and during the course of our conversation, and without my prompting, he had mentioned how they were focusing on making sure that their guns could take the cold weather abuse. I can't discuss the fix, but it sounds like they were all over it and had a fix for the problem. The solution wasn't just a band-aid, but one that was done the right way and would ensure that the cold weather cracking would never occur again!

I have KWA G36C, not the M4 we discussing, but figure I would add my two cents... lol The only issue I have is either a buckling or hop-up issue so I am replacing those. I figure that is a cheap fix compared to other issues I could have. KWA fixed the issue I am having with the newer version, so I figure they are staying on top of the issues
