    Default Hello from Indian Trail

Hello guys I am brand new to the forum as well as airsoft. I am a gun guy and have spent the last few years buying, selling, trading, building, shooting and competing with real guns. With the gun market being as it is I can't shoot near as much as I would like to so here I am. I began to research airsoft looking for training tools for my real shooting sports but the more I look into the "game" of airsoft the more I think I could really enjoy playing the game. With that said what do I buy? I am thinking I would rather go with the GBB type gun and am leaning toward a M4 style rifle and maybe one of the WE Toucan pistols since I am an M&P guy. Any and all suggestions and or advice would certainly be appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.
    Harold

Don't buy a gun that you will have to replace in short order. For a great high end assault aeg look at kwasua.com. KWA is the choice weapon on my team, battledogairsoft.com.

Yeah man, as fun as GBBR (gas blow back rifles) are, they aren't very practical. At $50.00 a mag for 50rd magazines, you'll find yourself frustrated when someone is shooting at you with their 300rd highcap, or even 120rd midcap. If M4s is what you're used to, then stick with the M4 platform. There are more parts and mods for the M4 than any other platform, so you can really make it your own.
Really know what you want out of your gun so you can make the right choice. If you have more questions, that's what we're here for on the forums!

Hey Harold. Welcome. I have the gas blowback rifle (GBBR) KWA LM4 which operates just like an AR (moving bolt, low capacity mags, recoil). It is really nice and helps me train my muscle memory for my real steel AR. Plus its a heck of a lot of fun to shoot. I also have several KWA and CA Armalite variants which do the job if you like electric guns (AEGs) and high capacity magazines. It all depends on your play style or current mood. Some AEG's have electric blowback. I would stay away from them. My son has one, dissasembled it and can get it back together right. So I would suggest go the realistic GBBR route or non blowback AEG route. Or do like I did and have both. If we can help, just ask.

Thanks for the replies guys. I was able to test fire a KWA LM4 today at a local shop and I must say I was impressed and will definitely be making the purchase soon. Also plan to pick up one of the WE Toucan pistols as well. This is just my plan to get started as I am certain I will want to venture into the AEG world soon as well as they seem to be a bit more popular.

I have been viewing your website as well as your FB page Gunny, I will definitely be coming out to check you guys out soon.

also the toucans are amazing im sad to say... my wife has the purple "big Bird" toucan and it out shoots my kjw m9. the only problem is that they have not came out with extra mags. outside that its great with the light weight, powerful recoil and good range.

also you should make it to gunnys afgan game next week. if you want to see what airsoft is about then youlll want to be there. plus its the proceeds go to charity.
