Don't get his hopes up, Navy recruiters fill their quotas for 'SEALs' before anything else these days, I know guys who did years worth of training with private 'BUDS coaches' before even enlisting, and the still dropped out of BUDS for the stupidest things.

By BUDS Coaches I don't mean those SEAL PT programs people do, I mean these guys train and instruct you specifically on how to make it through BUDS. If he wants a very mild taste of BUDS he should try Don Shipley's SEAL Experience, I play opfor for them occasionally and those guys are run ragged before we even get to beat the crap out of them with the force on force practical evolution.

Navy Seal? Common, if he wants to be a badass, he should go for a postman! I mean hasnt he seen the movie? Postmen are necessary for rebuilding this country. They save towns, gets the girls and even get to hang out with Tom Petty on a zipline..... thats what I want to be when I grow up. In the meantime, while he is do alll this training, remind him he is still a kid and should have some fun between pushups.

There are a boatload of truck drivers in the military. How come no one ever says they want to go into the military and be a truck driver? Yet, there's oodles of them. Or where are the ones who say, "I want to go check the weather for those Raptor pilots"? Yet, there are lots of them who do. Can't even say that I've heard anyone say something like "I want to be a doctor in the Medical Corps!" or "I want to be a military lawyer in the JAG Corps?"

Nope, everyone wants to be a sniper, SF, or grunt.

You can keep the ground pounding. If I was still young enough, sign me up to be a pilot in 160th SOAR!
Everyone in this sport strives to become a scalpel that cuts through the enemy with ease. Personally, I strive to be the doctor that knows exactly how to use that scalpel to get the job done.

true...true....Top Gun (Navy pilot), Star Wars (Rebel Pilot), Buck Rogers (Astronaut), Battlestar Galactica (Colonial pilot) then Alf (Alien Pilot) comes first to mind. Can't be just any pilot, gotta be a carrier based or space pilot.
Of course theres Mad Max, he was just a cop and he did pretty good for himself. Chips, Starks and Hutch, Hawaii Five O....
